Dan and I had a great weekend. Besides dancing to the band Sentimental Journey (great big band, swing music) all night Friday night in San Antonio, we had breakfast at Mi Tierra in the Mexican Market Saturday morning, then dinner at the Welfare Cafe in Welfare, Tx. If you haven't heard of Welfare, join the club. The restaurant may be the only thing in town. It is housed in an old general store, but the gourmet food is outstanding! Dan had a pork medallion plate with cherry sauce that made me want to lick his plate. I had a great roasted garlic/spinach soup and Greek salad. I was trying to save room for dessert. The praline bread pudding with caramel sauce was incredible. Next time, I'm going straight for the dessert, then if I have any room left over, I might eat dinner.

I'm going to try to sign us up for swing dance lessons starting in July. It would be so much more fun to go dancing if I had a right foot and a left foot, instead of two left feet! I'm hoping lessons might help.

Comments:
never been to Welfare, TX before...sounds interesting
